Welcome to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Toy Appeal The Childrens Hospital at Westmead Toy Appeal is an initiative that supports generous individuals, community groups and corporate organisations who want to bring joy to sick children by donating toys. For some of our patients, there are events throughout the year where presents, parties and fun with family and friends is just a dream. For our sick children, the reality is that meaningful events such as birthdays and Christmas often occur in-between medical treatment and lengthy stays in Hospital. Receiving a brightly-wrapped gift makes their journey that little bit easier. The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Toy Appeal is a great way to support our sick kids and Bear Cottage during these special times, bringing smiles to the faces of hospitalised children during momentous and magical times of the year. The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Toy Appeal provides you with the ease, convenience and appropriateness of choosing from a wide range of toys, nursery products, books, electronics, surf wear and board games, to name a few. All toys in the selection offered by The Children’s Hospital at Westmead are authentic, genuine branded and licensed products that have been specially selected by the team at the Hospital. Covering an age range from 0 to 18 years of age, all toys and products have been chosen based on Hospital compliance criteria to minimise risk of infection and maximise safety (See Terms of Use below for the Hospitals compliance criteria). About The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Bear Cottage The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is the largest paediatric centre in NSW, providing the most advanced care and treatment options for children from NSW, Australia and across the Pacific Rim. Established in 1880, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is a stand-alone public Hospital and registered charity with 3,000 staff working in 150 departments. Over 60,000 sick children and their families are cared for each year in a family-focused, healing environment. Bear Cottage is an initiative of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead that is located in Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It is NSW’s only children’s hospice, designed as a large beach home, with specialist medical care available 24 hours a day. Its location in Manly ensures families and children can rest in the tranquil surroundings near all the attractions and amenities of one of Sydney’s traditional holiday destinations. Families do not pay for any Bear Cottage services and all operating costs are raised entirely through donations from the community, corporate support and via fundraising events. Funded by the NSW Government, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Bear Cottage provides significant enhancements to services aided by the generosity of individual and corporate donors.
